I had this crazy notion this morning to hit one of my favorite courses - that took me up foremaster (hospital side). I used to love this and attributed doing repeats several times on it to my previous success - so time to get back to it! I was just doing a 3M, and I knew that 1.5M would only take me to it and then about 3/4 up it - but trust me - 3/4 is more than enough!

I was on my normal pace until I hit the upswing and then it was a killer! WOW! I'd forgotten the power of that hill. I got up to the turn around and headed back down and it took the longest time just for me to breath normal again - I just couldn't get enough oxygen into me! Got to the bottom and headed home and it just went downhill from there - I had to walk and jog, with walk being more prevalent, the last mile. Time was 29:36 (8:29, 9:49, 11:16) - but it was an awesome workout - and I will remember this day and will totally be back to doing full up/down repeats on this baby in about 4-5 months!

I have targeted a hill on the edge of town here. It is famous for its "assistance" to runners in training. I haven't done much of hill training at all, but I agree that it would make a ton of difference. You've inspired me to try to go make it happen...and soon! Keep it up my friend.

It really probably is too early in my training to be doing this hill already - but I've always done things that I "probably" shouldn't anyway - so why stop now! lol - you stay strong buddy!
